Campaign Story

My name is Isabel, and I am a childhood cancer patient survivor. I was diagnosed at 4 years old with Leukemia 2004 and went through invasive treatments, surgery’s, and tests to still be alive here on Earth. I then was in remission for quite some time until 2008 when unfortunately the devastating news of cancer returning, I had then received a bone marrow transplant in 2010, as well as total body radiation and more medications that poison my body. I have been in remission and a childhood cancer survivor for 14 years! With me growing into my young adult years, I develop many side effects from my childhood which prevents me from having and being a usual young adult. I also develop amazing goals along the way! I am a college student soon going into my 3rd year, majoring in psychology. As I get older I often think about having kids in the near future but unfortunately I’m not as fortunate to just conceive like a regular person would. I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency which means that my ovaries stop working earlier than normal and also comes with many complications throughout my life. I am not ready or stable to try and conceive at this time due to me being in college, and having Financial difficulties. What I would really like to do is preserve my eggs that I do have to hopefully be blessed in the future with a baby as well as a family. Unfortunately my insurance will not cover the cost of this treatment and with me being a college student and not having the financial support for this treatment I am reaching out for support in anyway that can be given! I hope to see my plans and dreams come true in the near future/ future and I am confident with the help of caring, loving and supportive people out in the community my accomplishments will come through!
